My journey from coffee enthusiast to researcher began when I started photographing coffee farms for clients (Ethiopia, Peru, Colombia), which opened my eyes to the dedication and skill behind coffee cultivation. This passion led me to pursue a Master’s in Natural Resources at Oregon State University, where my thesis research examines how climate change could impact Vietnamese robusta coffee farming and the potential for agroforestry to enhance resilience. Since completing my thesis, I’ve continued to apply this knowledge professionally, including working with IDH on projects in Vietnam aimed at reducing agrochemical use, diversifying farmer incomes, and helping local coffee farmers adapt to environmental changes. I’m excited to share this work, as it highlights the critical need for adaptive strategies to support coffee production and the communities who rely on it.
